SP2-08-01 S/P PROCESSING 31572 Order Register and Update, Overview
PURPOSE
The order register and update program is typically run at the end of each day. In general, this program is used to update both the sales and payments generated through the cash till sales entry program as well as the orders generated through the sales order entry program.
The main components of the order register and update program are as follows:
ORDER REGISTER BATCH CREATION/ACCESS.
Used to create new order register batches.
ORDER REGISTER BATCH OPTIONS.
Used to reprint, deselect, abort and update order register batches.
ORDER BATCH REGISTERS.
Prints audit trail reports of the information that will be updated by the batches.
ORDER REGISTER BATCH DESELECTIONS.
Used to deselect orders from order register batches.
ORDER BATCH UPDATE.
Used to update the order register batches and affect inventory, A/R, G/L and order history files with the information contained in the batches.
