The payroll codes maintenance program allows you to modify and select the payroll codes used by Ideal payroll to calculate employee hours, earnings, deductions, benefits and expenses. A master list of payroll codes is defined in the payroll system. The payroll codes maintenance program allows you to select applicable codes from the master list, modify their descriptions and how they affect payroll tax calculations in your specific company list. Typically, during the setup of your Ideal payroll system the specific payroll codes required by your company are determined and few changes are required afterwards. The program is accessed from screens 5 and 6 of the company maintenance program.
Ideal strongly recommends that you do not attempt to make changes to the payroll codes master list. Changing these codes may cause unexpected and/or undesired consequences affecting the calculation of earnings, deductions and benefits. If the codes defined in the master list do not meet all of your requirements, notify your Ideal consultant. Make changes only to your company list.
