31677 Conditions Of Quotation Messages Maintenance

 

PURPOSE

 

The conditions of quotation messages maintenance enables you to add, modify and delete a boilerplate conditions of quotation message to be printed automatically at the end of quotations. In a multistore environment, the condition of quotation message file is distributed nightly from the head office to the remaining stores so that the updated messages affect printed quotations the following day. To utilize this feature requires modifications to your specific quotation document printing program.

 

The conditions of quotation message is actually a specific order message with the PARAGRAPH CODE of QOC. See 31676 - ORDER MESSAGES MAINTENANCE. Thus there can be only one conditions of quotation message. When you access the program before you create your initial message the program prompts you to enter the desired text. When you access the program after creating your initial text the program prompts you to modify or delete the text.

 

Conditions of Quotation Messages Maintenance is accessed from:

  • Order Processing Maintenance menu.

 

PROCEDURE

 

Select Conditions of Quotation Messages Maintenance from the Order Processing Maintenance menu. The conditions of quotation messages maintenance screen displays.

[Enter] to add message text.

 

The cursor advances to the editing window and the program enters edit mode.

 


Special Editing Keys:

 

[HOME] to move cursor to the left margin of the current line.

 

[END] to move cursor to the right margin of the current line.

 

[INSERT] to toggle between INSERT and TYPEOVER modes.

 

[DELETE] to delete the character at cursor.

 

[BACKSPACE] to delete the character to the left of cursor.

 

[←] [→] [↑] [↓] to move cursor as indicated by selected arrow key.

 

[F2] to delete the current line.

 

[F6] to reformat text by removing extra spaces and hard returns.

 

[F4] to end text entry.

 

You can add any number of lines of 70 characters each. Bear in mind, however, that the conditions of quotation message prints on a quote in addition to product lines. When you have completed entering text press [F4]. The following prompt displays.

 

** OK TO UPDATE? (ENTER TO UPDATE; F2 TO MODIFY; F4 TO BYPASS):

 

[Enter] to accept and update.

 

[F2] to modify.

 

The program returns to edit mode.

 

 

[F4] to not add the code and return to PARAGRAPH CODE field.

 

[F2] or [F4] to exit to menu.

"M" to modify text.

 

The program enters edit mode and the cursor is positioned at the end of the existing text. When you have completed making your modifications to the text press [F4]. The following prompt displays.

 

 

** OK TO UPDATE? (ENTER TO UPDATE; F2 TO MODIFY; F4 TO BYPASS):

 

[Enter] to accept and update.

 

[F2] to modify.

 

The program reenters edit mode.

 

 

[F4] to discard all edits and return to PARAGRAPH CODE field.

 

"D" to delete text.

 

** OK TO DELETE? (Y/N):

 

"Y" to delete text.

 

"N" to not delete text.
