29132 Deleting Data

 

PURPOSE

 

After the initial set up of your master data files you will from time to time need to delete entries from your master records. This article describes the basic procedures used in maintenance programs for deleting information from your master data files.

 

 

PROCEDURE

 

At the maintenance data entry screen enter the code or codes that make up the key that identifies the master record you wish to delete.

 

When you enter the key of an existing record one of the following prompts is displayed:

 

** FIELD NUMBER TO MODIFY; 'D' TO DELETE; CR TO CONTINUE:

 

(or)

 

** 'M' TO MODIFY; 'D' TO DELETE; CR TO CONTINUE:

 

"D" at either prompt to delete the record.

 

You will be prompted to confirm the action.

 

 

** OK TO DELETE? (Y/N):

 

"Y" to confirm and delete the record.
