PURPOSE - GENERAL
This software manual is intended to help you at every stage of the learning process, from the novice who reads step by step instructions to the expert user who uses the manual as a quick reference guide. The manual provides detail where program procedures warrant it.
The basic steps are provided for each program option to allow for quick and easy data entry. Each section of the manual contains information for setting up that module and what programs will be used on a daily, periodic and as required basis. There is also a discussion of the journal entries that will be posted to the general ledger by each module during processing.
Each module specific section of the manual contains 5 chapters and each chapter contains a number of articles, describing separate programs or utilities, arranged in alphabetical order by title. In some instances the logical progression of topics takes precedence over alphabetical order.
Ways to master the applications quickly and with minimal effort are:
If you are not already so, become thoroughly familiar with your computer system, including the keyboard layout, terminal display and printer.
Peruse this manual. Read the entire General System Guide and the articles entitled "Setting Up the System" for each of the modules that you will be using.
Use the manual menus and alphabetical tables of contents to find features you are unsure of in each module. When accessing the manual online, utilize the search options.
Utilize the services of the Ideal consultants and trainers who are always available to help you should you need them.
PURPOSE - ONLINE USERS MANUAL
The online users manual is designed to facilitate learning and using Ideal software. Other than a password, there are no restrictions on access to the online manual and you may view the online manual on as many computers as you wish and print any or all content as you desire for instructional and reference purposes within your organization. Please consult Ideal to obtain your password to access the online manual. If you wish to obtain paginated hard copy of any or all of the online manual, contact Ideal or your Ideal consultant. There is a nominal fee for providing hard copy. Ideal can also provide at no charge Adobe postscript (.ps), portable document format (.pdf) and unformatted text files.
If you purchase either hard copy or receive a file version of the manual, Ideal recommends that you verify the accuracy of these items from time to time. Ideal maintains its online documentation database only and can not insure that previously printed or file versions are up todate.
PROCEDURE - NAVIGATING THE ONLINE USERS MANUAL
The online users manual is easy to use. From the Main Menu, simply select the desired option. You can view the full table of contents or tables of contents for each system module. The tables of contents are linked directly to individual articles of the manual. Each individual article opens in a new window or tab. References to other related articles are linked. Selecting a reference link will open the referenced article in another window or tab. To exit the article simply select the "Close This" button. From each table of contents you can return to the Main Menu by selecting the Return to Main Menu button.
Note: using your browser's Back Button is not recommended.
You can also print individual articles from your browser. Simply select your browser's print option.
Note: your printout may not paginate correctly.
The online users manual also offers a sophisticated search system that enables you to find articles based on a number of search criteria. Simply select Search Options from the Main Menu.
