GS3-06 Common Messages and Prompts

PURPOSE

Ideal applications have been designed to ensure maximum uniformity of the user interface. This means that some system messages and prompts occur throughout all the module programs and utilities. This article explains the common messages and prompts that you will encounter in processing programs.

BATCH CONTROL - COMMON MESSAGES

>> WARNING: DATE NOT WITHIN A/P PERIOD OF 'YYMM'. ACCEPT ANYWAYS ? (Y/N):

This alert message is displayed whenever you enter a General Ledger date that is not within the current accounting period. This generally occurs during the first few days of a new period if you have not yet completed the month/period end routine for the preceding month. If you wish the new batch to be included in the preceding month, enter "N" and change the G/L date to the last day of the preceding month. If you wish the new batch to be included in the new period, enter "Y" and continue. Data entered in a future period will not be affected by the preceding month/period end routine if the batch is not updated before the month/period end routine is performed.
