In the payroll system, most programs are used on an as required basis. For example, after initial system set up, you will use your master file maintenance programs only when you need to make changes or additions/deletions to payroll deductions, benefits, employee groups, etc. From time to time you will add new employees and terminate employees who have left the company. Inquiry programs and listings will be used to display or print out file information whenever you need such information at hand. Payroll reports will be used to prepare monthly remittance payments.
