GL4-05 Copy Complete Division

 

PURPOSE

 

The copy complete division program is used to copy all general ledger accounts from one division to another. The target division's existing general ledger accounts will not be affected by the copy process. Only the chart of accounts are copied to the new division. The balances, transaction history and budget figures are not copied.

 

Copy Complete Division is accessed from:

  • G/L Account Maintenance menu.

 

PROCEDURE

 

When you select Copy Complete Division from the G/L Account Maintenance menu the following prompts display.

 

COMPANY#

 

Displays the company you are currently working in.

 

FROM DIVISION#

 

Enter the two character source division code.

 

DIVISION NAME

 

Displays the name of source division.

 

TO DIVISION#

 

Enter the two character target division code.

 

DIVISION NAME

 

Displays the name of target division.

 

If you enter a division that does not exist the following prompt displays.

 

DIVISION NAME  ** CREATE NEW DIVISION **

THIS ROUTINE WILL COPY ALL G/L MASTERS FROM DIVISION 'NN' TO 'NN'
IT WILL NOT AFFECT ANY EXISTING G/L ACCOUNTS ALREADY IN THE DIVISION

** DO YOU WANT TO PROCEED WITH THIS COPY ? (Y/N): _

 

"Y" to copy/create new division.

 

The copy/create takes place without further warning. When the process is complete the following prompt displays.

 


** COPY COMPLETE; PRESS CR:

 

[Enter] to exit to menu.

 

"N" to cancel and return to FROM DIVISION# field.
